Dub Sims

Dub Sims, of Burleson, Texas, passed away at the age of 81 on

March 19, 2021. Dub was born in Olney, Tx and was the third son of

the late John Franklin Sims and Lydia Essie Everett Sims. He married

Sidney Beth Guyler in 1963.

Dub was a graduate of Paint Creek High School, Haskell, TX and

Texas A&M in 1962.

He was a Vo-Ag teacher at Eastland and Throckmorton High

schools, and then was a County Extension Agent in Midland and Nolan

Counties. In 1975, he accepted a position with the Ft Worth National

Bank in the Farm & Ranch Trust Department. Dub retired in 2004,

after nearly 30 years in the Farm and Ranch Trust Department.

Dub was preceded in death by his parents and both of his brothers Frank and Ray Sims.

Dub is survived by his wife Sidney Beth Guyler Sims, sons Cary Sims of Lufkin, Tx ,

Brian Sims of Corinth, Tx, their spouses, and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rick Sims, Boxer Sims, Guyler Sims, Grayson Sims, Drake Sims, Jay

Davis, Marshall Eaton, and Mike Lansford.

Visitation was Tuesday, March 23rd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mountain Valley Funeral

Home, Joshua, TX. Services were held Wednesday, March 24th at Mountain Valley Funeral

Home in Joshua, TX. Officiating was Rev David Couch of First Baptist Burleson. Graveside

services at the Burleson Memorial Cemetery immediately followed.
